<title>Ästhetik der Kinder- und Jugendliteratur im weltliterarischen Kontext</title>
<link>https://oapen-dev.siscern.org/handle/20.500.12657/104089</link>
<description>Ästhetik der Kinder- und Jugendliteratur im weltliterarischen Kontext
Kuzminykh, Ksenia
This habilitation thesis undertakes a rigorous examination of the literary-theoretical dimensions of children's and young adult literature, with the objective of contributing to its theoretical and aesthetic discourse. At the core of this investigation lie two principal hypotheses. First, it is asserted that the persistent dialectic between heteronomous and autonomous aesthetic positions not only constitutes a foundational tension within children's and young adult literary studies but has also been instrumental in shaping both the historical trajectory and contemporary evolution of the genre. Second, the development of children's and young adult literature may be conceptualized as a continuous oscillation between the poles of aesthetic autonomy and heteronomy, reflecting broader shifts in literary, cultural, and ideological paradigms.&#13;
&#13;
Employing a comparative methodological framework, this study engages with an array of international children's and young adult literary texts published in the 21st century. The selection encompasses diverse textual forms and thematic orientations, including psychological fiction, cultural-ecological narratives, crime literature, and historical fiction. This corpus serves as the foundation for an in-depth exploration of the dynamic interplay between aesthetic imperatives and extraliterary determinants in contemporary children's and young adult literature, elucidating the ways in which these works navigate the dialectic between artistic self-determination and external sociocultural forces.

Whether in the past or present – left-wing militancy is a firmly established part of political protest and movement culture in Germany. The “Bundesfachstelle Linke Militanz”, based at the Institute for Democracy Research at the University of Göttingen, has been examining various facets of this phenomenon over the past years. The Bundesfachstelle challenges common prejudices against left-wing militancy and clarifies the need for action from the perspective of democracy research. Concluding the project, funded by the federal program "Demokratie Leben!", this publication presents current findings on left-wing militancy in Germany, as well as experiences in addressing it. &#13;
The contributions speak to various fields of analysis – such as housing struggles, antifascism, or climate activism – as well as scene-specific manifestations of issues like sexism, antisemitism, or radicalization. The publication also presents and critically discusses approaches to preventive and educational engagement with left-wing militancy. The diverse contributions from both research and practice collected in this volume enable scholars and professionals in political education and prevention work to engage in a focused examination of the challenges and possible courses of action in addressing left-wing militancy.

<title>Geschichte der „Bauernjagd“</title>
<link>https://oapen-dev.siscern.org/handle/20.500.12657/104087</link>
<description>Geschichte der „Bauernjagd“
Steinsiek, Peter-Michael
Since the Middle Ages, hunting has been a privileged pastime for rulers and the powerful in large parts of Europe. In Germany, the aristocratic right to hunt on other people's land did not formally end until the revolution of 1848/49. The interest of historians in hunting is therefore mainly focused on the art forms and attributes of courtly hunting, its protagonists, methods, weapons and equipment, the development of hunting fairness (Weidgerechtigkeit) and hunter's language (Weidmannssprache), hunting signals and hunting dogs.&#13;
This volume, on the other hand, deals with the question of whether and, if so, under what conditions peasants and members of the lower or non-peasant classes also pursued (huntable) wild animals, using examples mainly from Lower Saxony. The hunting laws generally ruled this out. Was it conceivable that a non-aristocratic hunting culture had survived alongside aristocratic hunting practices?&#13;
The period under investigation covers the early modern period and the 19th century, with pre- and post-times. Aspects of the development of hunting law, the functions of hunting as a resource for the ruling classes, bird-trapping and poaching as ʻhunting for the little manʼ, animal torture games and hunting criticism as well as the anthropological foundations of hunting are also touched upon.
