        Abstract
The fifth volume of the New Senfl Edition (NSE) provides the first scholarly editions of Senfl's newly dated Magnificat settings (composed around 1523), whose transmission exclusively in central Germany is presumably due to Luther's widespread interpretation of the text. In addition, the volume offers a new edition of Senfl's Mass Ordinaries, which now also contains a previously unknown mass, as well as an updated overview of the various performance possibilities with which Senfl conceived his masses. The volume offers numerous illustrations, as well as critical reports discussing each work, providing comprehensive information on the texts, plainchant models, an evaluation of the sources, as well as the context of the works' history.
