oapen.abstract.otherlanguageThe diversity of Latin America is reflected in the wide range of interdisciplinary research on the region. The contributions in this volume provide a variety of insights into this field: they range from Latin American intellectual history to ambivalent ways of thinking, spaces and borders, literary contexts, and finally to Berlin as a place of American writing. The focus is on those aspects that are also significant for Susanne Klengel's research work. She has explored Latin America with all its languages, histories, ethnicities, cultures, and theosophies through an anti-paradigmatic approach. She invites us to think outside the box, thereby penetrating the paradoxes and contingencies of reality and guiding us through the winding paths between Latin America, Europe, and India. This volume is dedicated to her.
