| oapen.abstract.otherlanguage | The rural school of Copihuelpe, located in the rural area of the Loncoche commune, shaped the lives of several generations of residents in this town in the Araucanía Region. Founded in the 1920s and initially named "Santa Teresa," it was renamed "Flor del Bosque" upon its closure in 2005. The school's infrastructure still stands today, resisting the passage of time and deterioration, but not the community's memory. Through a community initiative, with the collaboration of the Faculty of Education, Social Sciences, and Humanities at the University of La Frontera, this book invites readers to explore the history of this rural school, primarily through the eyes of its former students. The school's significance in the rural community makes it impossible to forget the experiences in its classrooms, the adventures of traveling along old roads, the games played during recess, participation in civic events, the school meals, the teachers, and the lessons learned. The ethnographic work is complemented by a photographic record of this establishment, as a way of rescuing, preserving and projecting into the future the rural education in these territories. | |
