        "This book presents a novel analysis of land conflicts arising from large-scale oil palm plantations in Colombia.         "Este libro presenta un análisis novedoso sobre los conflictos por la tierra que surgen a causa de las plantaciones de palma de aceite a larga escala en Colombia. El estudio revela la poderosa dimensión política de la música en el contexto de la transición que vive el país colombiano e investiga el impacto local de los monocultivos de palma de aceite en la Colombia rural. La investigación aborda estrategias, mecanismos y acciones de construcción de paz que han emprendido las comunidades campesinas para movilizar los procesos de retorno a sus territorios, tras haber experimentado el desplazamiento forzado. A través de tres estudios de caso de comunidades de los litorales Atlántico y Pacífico, y la recopilación de cerca de cuarenta cantos inéditos –gran parte de ellos en ritmo vallenato– compuestos por comunidades campesinas afectadas por la industria palmera, el libro recoge la producción musical que se origina en esos contextos y proporciona un análisis detallado desde y sobre los procesos comunitarios campesinos, explorando el papel de la cultura comunitaria en la transformación del conflicto"
