The 16th volume of the edition of pope Innocent III’s chancery registers is containing 182 letters on political and ecclesiastical issues addressed to multiple recipients all over Europe and in the Middle East. The volume is offering the critical edition of the texts, ample historical comments, identifications of textual parallels and quotations from the Bible, Canon and Roman law, theological, liturgical and classical texts. In the introduction, the manuscript and the editory principles are described. Several indices help to access the contents. Das Register des 16. Pontifikatsjahrs Innocenz’ III. enthält 182 Briefe aus der päpstlichen Kanzlei, die sich an unterschiedliche Empfänger richten und politische und kirchliche Verhältnisse in ganz Europa wie im Nahen Osten betreffen. Der Band bietet eine kritische Edition, einen ausführlichen Sachkommentar, Hinweise auf Textparallelen und Zitate aus der Bibel, dem kanonischen und römischen Recht, theologischen, liturgischen und klassischen Texten. Einleitend werden die Handschrift und die Einrichtung der Edition beschrieben. Der Band wird durch mehrere Indices erschlossen.
