        Abstract
The epochal scenario in which twentieth-century philosophical anthropology enforced its proposal has its focal point in the variously modulated attempt to connect bodies, action and work. The present contribution aims to follow such a research model from its initial approach formulated by Max Scheler by linking knowledge and work (§ 2), through the declinations given by Arnold Gehlen, between philosophy of action and sociology of work (§ 3), and Helmuth Plessner, between definition of human eccentricity and analysis of the organization of work (§ 4). To conclude with a sketchy exploration of a possible different direction for anthropological reflection on the assumptions of making and producing in the intertwining of bodies and materials (§ 5).
