        Abstract
Due to the particular socio-demographic characteristics, typical of the 'piedmont' territories and the multiple criticalities in the fields of transport, health, commerce and instruction/education/training, the Unione dei Comuni della Val di Bisenzio (including Vaiano, Vernio and Cantagallo, in the province of Prato), has been classified as one of the three internal areas of Tuscany since 2014. This research, during its first phase, aims to investigate and better understand the levels of educational fragility in the three territories investigated, focusing, in particular, on school situation and territorial policies to support young people with Special Educational Needs.
