        Abstract
The fourth volume of the new historical-critical edition of Raimund's works contains, in addition to the play 'Die Unheil bringende Krone', the magic play 'Der Verschwender', a 'classic' of Austrian theatre. The complete reproduction of the original manuscripts and later theatre manuscripts not only provides information on Raimund's working methods, but also brings the theatre practitioner to the fore.
